The main aim of this paper is to understand the role that cinema has in Merleau-Ponty's philosophy. For this author, the analysis of an object in general also apply to film as it is an object to be perceived and not thinking, that is, when one perceives does not think the world, he is organized before the individual.
These his analyzes allow to understand the film as the art of making visible objects and behaviors, since the film is what makes the invisible the visible in our relations with each other, showing a dialogue between visible and invisible. Thus, the interest of the philosopher by the cinema, while perceived object, based on its contribution to the phenomenology of perception and gaze and also the possibility of an approach towards others and intersubjectivity.
