Europeana, la biblioteca, archivo y museo digital europeo se encuentra en un momento crucial. El último año, conjuntamente con sus aso-ciados y proyectos, cambió el aspecto del patrimonio cultural digital al abrir su enorme conjunto de datos a la libre reutilización. En este momento su lucha por una financiación continuada sigue avanzando. Jill Cousins, Directora Ejecutiva de Europeana, esboza cómo Europeana ha llegado a convertirse en lo que es hoy y resalta algunos de sus logros más recientes y, por último, repasa la impresionante contribución española al proyecto.
Europeana, Europe’s digital library, archive and museum, stands at a pivotal moment in time. Last year, along with its network of partners and projects, it changed the face of digital cultural heritage by opening up its huge dataset for free reuse. Now, it is fighting for funding to continue its great progress.
