This paper tends to examine the philosophical status of ‘‘transcendental pain’’ developed by Heidegger in ‘‘Hegel’’(68th volume of the ‘‘Gesamtausgabe’’). How can a pain be said transcendental in general? This question is fundamental all through the heideggerian interpretation of Hegel. It allows Heidegger to claim that hegelian negativity has both logical and phenomenological expression and that is not a sheer abstraction.
