Las guarderías son una forma de organización que responde a la necesidad de las mujeres de cumplir su doble papel como trabajadoras y madres. En el marco legal, este servicio es una prestación obligatoria generada por el derecho de la madre trabajadora a que su hijo sea atendido durante su jornada laboral. En 1983, una crisis financiera en el Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social provocó modificaciones en la prestación del servicio de guarderías, adoptando una modalidad de servicio indirecto –subrogado– por medio de asociaciones y sociedades civiles. En la presente investigación se analiza el cambio organizacional que tal moficación ha conllevado.
Nurseries are a type of organization, which gives an answer to women’s needs due to their twofold role as workers and mothers. Within a legal frame, this is a mandatory benefit generated by the right of the working mother to have her child cared during her working day. In 1983, a financial crisis in the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social(Social Service Mexican Institute) determined the need to implement new organizational methods. In order to fulfill the new needs, different models were developed where services are given in an indirect or subrogated way through civic societies and associations. Here it is analyzed the organizational change that this Institution has made by modifying direct nursery services to indirect ones.
