El público de los medios de comunicación entra en contacto cotidianocon noticias e información sobre hechos imposibles deatestiguar personalmente. El material informativo de los mediosde comunicación suele configurarse como relato, es decir, una secuenciade acciones que tiene un comienzo y un final, una tramay ciertos actores. Estos relatos, acompañados de fotografías o descripciones,no sólo dan cuenta del desarrollo de una acción, tambiéndibujan o crean desde la imaginación determinados atributosque definen sujetos, lugares, naturaleza de acciones y otorganun sentido a lo narrado, proporcionando así cierto orden moralimplícito. Con base en el estudio de información de prensa escritasobre el municipio de Valle de Chalco, al oriente del DistritoFederal, se busca conocer cuáles son los atributos que se le asignanal municipio y a sus habitantes a través del tiempo.
