In the immediate post-independence period, Morocco was forced to face several a constraint among which is building an educational system that meets the growing needs of the society. Despite all the reforms implemented by the public authorities, the performance of the educational system remains very low (the persistence of illiteracy, the enrolment rates are still very low throughout all levels, high proportion of school drop-outs, lower achievement levels, unemployment among graduates and persistent inequalities).
