Santiago, Chile
In this article we are mapping Metaphors and chronotopes of national memory in the novel of Chilean writer Nona Fernández. In Mapocho the foundational texts of the mythology of the nation are perverted. This happens through the recreation of the repressed memory of alternative and resistant subjectivities against the project of building nations and the Chilean Dictatorship. In Av. Diez de Julio Huamachuco, the metaphor of memory is the "dark room", which redefines the homonymous poem by Lihn, to connote the chronotope of horror they inhabit the victims of Dictatorship. In Fuenzalida we are facing a globalized imaginary; memory is a Chinese dragon, symbol of artistic creation, namely, a fictional memory, neoliberal. In Space Invaders childhood memory is reminded by a minimalist poetic that use the ghost rhetoric of dreams, in order to figure the besieged memory of those times.
