En medio de un panorama de profundos cambios en el ámbito comunicacional y cultural del país, la actividad cinematográfica nacional no ha sido sino un reflejo más de la dinámica en torno a políticas públicas que lleva a cabo el Gobierno Nacional de los últimos años. Así, la polarización política también ha tocado el seno de uno de los gremios más antiguos y combativos de la cultura venezolana, perfilándose como un bastión esencial sobre el cual se vislumbra una tendencia hacia la exclusión de quienes todavía no entienden hacia dónde va la llamada “democratización” del cine en el país.
In the middle of a scenario of deep changes in the communicational and cultural scope of the country, the national cinematographic activity has not been but another reflection of the dynamics around public policies that the National Government of the last years has carried out. Thus, the political polarization has also touched the core of one of the oldest and combative guilds of the Venezuelan culture, being outlined like an essential bastion on which there is a glimpse of a tendency towards the exclusion of those who still don’t understand where the “democratization” of the cinema in the country is heading towards to.
