The Internet and social media have triggered significant changes both in tourist behaviour and promotion. The 2.0 tourist is one who demands high quality and wellstructured information, prompting, in its turn, an evaluation of discourse on tourist websites. Digital tourist discourse, like any specialist discourse, displays graphic, lexical, syntactic and morphological characteristics which differentiate it from that of other specialist discourse. Qualitative techniques were used to analyse stylistic devices on the website france.fr relating to sentence elements and their typology. The results reveal that, beyond a mere informative and promotional function of the destination, the use of certain stylistic devices transforms the tourist discourse into a highly expressive one, capable of attracting, persuading and implicating the 2.0 tourist.
