From focusing the awareness of perceptual complexity of reality within the Fluxus movement, it passed to the interest in perceptual experience of the body itself to settle the attitude of Body Art. With Body Art an art form was propelled where the signifier is the artist's body and not the traditional artistic methods. In the performance of Body Art , meanings and reasons are not discussed , the medium itself is the message. This article is a research focused on the so called Body Art or Corporal Art , when it is taking into account the behavior and body gestures . Based on the symbolic analysis proposed by Victor Turner, we analyze the works of the pioneering artists in this form of artistic creation , demonstrating that they were pieces of what is now known by the generic name of Performance Art.
