The article presents a response to comments made by R. Delbridge and P. C. Fiss in an earlier issue concerning a decline in typological theories in the publication. The authors agree that theorizing driven by typology would benefit the organization sciences, consider subject areas where they believe new typologies would be welcome, and offer their thoughts on assessing the relevance of existing typologies. They conclude by citing the importance of deduction and induction to developing new insights into typological research.
