El artículo parte de la observación que el Estado de bienestar y los actores del mercado laboral no serán capaces de proveer justicia social. La injusticia social ya ha alcanzado un nivel que pone en peligro el desarrollo sostenible, cuyo aspecto central es precisamente la justicia social. La causa de esa incapacidad es la disfuncionalidad de los actores mencionados para organizar la participación democrática en la toma de decisiones relativas al qué y al cómo producir y al cómo distribuir la riqueza producida. Esa disfuncionalidad la provoca la globalización con sus efectos desintegradores sobre los espacios económicos y políticos. La pregunta es ¿cómo organizar a nivel global esa participación? Refiriéndose a las cooperativas, el artículo propone investigar la capacidad normativa de los diferentes tipos de empresa para organizar esa participación democrática y, por ende, su capacidad de contribuir a la justicia social
The article starts form the observation that the Welfare state and the labor market actors will not be able to provide for social justice. Social injustice has reached a level where it threatens sustainable development, whose central aspect is precisely social justice. The cause of this incapacity is the dysfunctionality of these actors when it comes to organizing democratic participation in the decisions concerning the what and how to produce and the how to distribute the produced wealth. Globalization with its disintegrating effects on economic and political spaces is provoking this dysfunctionality. The question is: How to organize at the global level this participation? With reference to cooperatives the article suggests researching the normative capacity of the various enterprise types to organize this participation and, as a consequence, their capacity to contribute to social justice
