This contribution presents case law from the German Federal Constitutional Court (FCC - BVerfG) in the period of 2010-2012 which has been selected for its importance for an international audience. It covers decisions on data retention (section 1), on legal requirements imposed on transsexuals to enter into same-sex partnerships (section 2), on preventive detention (section 3), on the use of a 5% barrier clause for elections to the European Parliament (section 4), on the euro rescue package (section 5) and on the remuneration system for professors (section 6).
