En este artículo se presentan someramente los principales datos extraídos del análisis exhaustivo de la evolución del mercado televisivo en España y su relación con la explotación de los derechos de retransmisión de eventos deportivos. En el mismo, se pone de manifiesto cómo las estrategias empresariales de los principales grupos de comunicación, e incluso de algunas operadoras de telecomunicaciones, han estado en numerosas ocasiones estrechamente relacionadas con la tenencia de los derechos de explotación audiovisual de los deportes mayoritarios.
Los objetivos de este artículo se centran, por tanto, en analizar cómo los contenidos premium de carácter deportivo, y no solamente el fútbol, están condicionando de manera muy relevante el nuevo mapa audiovisual español, y más en concreto, las operaciones de fusiones y absorciones televisivas, o de compra de participaciones significativas en plataformas digitales.
De la deducción de los datos alcanzados se infiere que cualquier movimiento estratégico en España en cuanto a la compra de los derechos de retransmisión deportiva, ha provocado cambios, algunos de ellos notables, en el mapa de la televisión; y ha influido también, y de manera apreciable, en la aparición de otras modalidades de explotación de contenidos audiovisuales, ya sea a través de los nuevos canales de pago de TDT, la telefonía móvil o la televisión IP.
This article briefly presents the main data from the comprehensive analysis of the evolution of the TV market in Spain and their relation to the exploitation of broadcasting rights for sporting events. In it, it shows how the business strategies of major media groups, and even some carriers, have repeatedly been closely related to custody of audiovisual exploitation rights for major sports.
The objectives of this Rule, therefore, to analyze how the premium content of sports, not just football, are very relevant conditioning the Spanish audiovisual new map, and more specifically the mergers and takeovers TV, or purchase of significant stakes in digital platforms.
Deduction of the data obtained it follows that any strategic movement in Spain in terms of the purchase of sports rights has led to changes, some of them notable in the television map, and has also influenced, and significantly, the emergence of other forms of exploitation of audiovisual content, whether through the new DTT pay TV, mobile telephony or IP television
