In this essay, the author wishes to make a presentation, of introductory nature, on the validity intentions of the thoughts of the North American philosopher John Rawls. I will sustain my writings on his work of 1971, «Theory of Justice», but I will keep in mind other previous writings. In the future, I hope to show the pragmatic turn that the author makes in his later work.
I believe that the intentions of the philosopher make us think, Latin American and Colombian people, particularly when we look at the applicability of his principles to the confines of the distributive justice, from the depressed socio-economical conditions in which the less favoured of our societies live in this historic moment.
With the conviction of not being speaking now for a group of specialists on the subject, but rather to the general public that looks for enlightening their «political postures». I will use a non specialized language in order to create a suitable climate for political discernment and for mutual enrichment.
