Dos de las principales demandas del profesorado canario en los últimos años ha girado en torno a la jornada laboral: la defensa de la jornada continua y el rechazo a la tutoría de tarde. Recientemente el debate sobre el riempo escolar ha vuelto a surgir y con ello el choque de intereses en torno a la jornada laboral del profesorado. En este trabajo se pretende analizar hasta dónde llega el disentimiento entre los principales miembros de la comunidad educativa: profesorado, padres y administración educativa. Asimismo se dixcute sobre la responsabilidad de los distintos agentes educativos en hacer valer el principio de democratización del sistema educativo, y si este se ve cuestionado por la defensa de los intereses particulares del profesorado.
During in last years, two of the main demands of the canary teachers concern labour days:
it favours continuous time of schooling and reject afternoon tutoring. Recently the debate on school time has re-emerged and with it the opposite interests surrounding teachers´ continuous hourly job. In this paper we analyze the dissent among the principal members of the educational community: teachers, parents and educational administration. It also discusses the responsibility of different educational agents in enforcing the principle of democratization of the educative system and if the particular interests of teachers are questioning the democratization of the educational system.
