En este artículo se repasa brevemente la historia de la Junta para Ampliación de Estudios e Investigaciones Científicas, fundada hace ahora un siglo, mencionando los centros que creó, los principales investigadores que trabajaron en ella, al igual que la política de becas que desarrolló y los problemas de índole política con los que tuvo que enfrentarse.
In this paper the history of the Board for the Extension of Studies and Scientific Researches, created one hundred years ago, is briefly studied, mentioning the centres it created, the main researchers that worked there, as well as the grants politic that it carried out, and the problem of political nature that it had to confront.
