Health databases with Spanish content that offer free access over the internet have increased significantly over the last few years. Some are multidisciplinary (Ibecs, IME, Medes, Cochrane library, Guia Salud, Compludoc) while others are specialized in fields such as nursing (BDIE, Cuiden, Cuidatge, Enfispo), geriatrics (Mayores, Rare Diseases, Siere) or the history of science and documentation (Documed, Bibliografía española de Historia de la Ciencia y de la Téc-nica). Most of them are produced by institutions in the public sector.
