The current browsing scheme on internet users' minds means retrieving information via search engines. Thus, search engines have become main information brokers, and so we need to know very well how they operate, and then apply strategies to optimize our websites indexation and position in their indexes to fulfill users' expectations. This article is a study based in commonly accepted opinions in the webmasters international community, as well as official information available in search engines guidelines on which are the reasons why it is necessary to practice Search Engine Optimization techniques, which are the more recommendable and ethical techniques and which approximate results we can expect from them.
