This study examines paper-level metrics in the literature on topics related to economic policy uncertainty (EPU) to provide a re-search agenda for hotspots and trends. Based on 523 papers on EPU in the Web of Science Core Collection database from 2012-2023, we use VOSviewer and CiteSpace to present a bibliometric review of publications, citation structure, authors, uni-versities, countries, journals, and keywords on the topic. Additionally, EPU and green new energy as well as carbon emissions, EPU and corporate investment and corporate finance, EPU and financial markets, and EPU and geopolitical risk are presented as research hotspots. Furthermore, research trends are identified: research on the influencing factors and economic conse-quences of EPU in the context of emerging markets, mechanism analysis of EPU’s impact on the capital market, and further research on green innovation. Our study enriches EPU theory and provides new paths for researchers and practitioners.
