With the development of computer technology, multimedia technology and communication technology, a new educational model, represented by educational technology, has emerged in the field of education in China, in which distance education is a prominent part. This research adopts web-based teaching system, real-time interaction and on-demand distance teaching system. On the basis of introducing the related theory and development background of distance education, this paper analyses the development needs of sports distance network education platform, and makes application analysis of related key technologies such as WEB technology, streaming media technology, database, electronic whiteboard and so on. The research results show that the main trend of international teacher education development is the professionalization of teachers’ profession, the diversification of teacher training system, the high level of teacher education quality and the lifelong process of teacher education. At the same time, this sports remote network education platform for college physical education provides students with rich sports learning resources, increases the time and space for students to learn independently, and promotes the transformation of sports learning methods.
