La familia es considerada una de las instituciones más importantes en todas las sociedades. A pesar de los continuos cambios históricos, económicos, culturales y sociales, la familia siempre permanece. El principal objetivo de este estudio es conocer, a partir de las encuestas realizadas por el Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (estudio nº 3032), las creencias de 2464 personas sobre la importancia, el nivel de satisfacción y las funciones principales de la familia española con la intención de establecer estrategias formativas encaminadas a un mejor desarrollo de la orientación educativa y familiar en los centros educativos. Los resultados obtenidos consideran a la familia de gran importancia, además de otorgarle un alto grado de satisfacción. Las funciones más valoradas hacen referencia a la dimensión afectiva entre sus miembros y la labor de crianza y educación de los hijos. Se considera una primera aproximación para poder comenzar a diseñar intervenciones en el ámbito educativo sobre las necesidades y características reales de las familias que refuercen aún más esta permanente, imprescindible institución social.
The family is considered one of the most important institutions in all societies. Despite the continuous historical, economic, cultural and social changes, the family always remains. The main objective of this study is to find out, from surveys carried out by the Centre for Sociological Research (study no. 3032), the beliefs of 2464 people about the importance, level of satisfaction and main functions of the Spanish family with the intention of establishing training strategies aimed at a better development of educational and family guidance in educational centres. The results obtained consider the family to be of great importance, in addition to granting it a high degree of satisfaction. The most valued functions refer to the affective dimension between its members and the work of raising and educating children. It is considered a first approximation to be able to begin to design interventions in the educational field on the real needs and characteristics of families that further reinforce this permanent and essential social institution.
