El presente estudio analiza la alfabetización mediática en contextos de migración, centrándose en las condiciones de acceso a la información en la frontera norte de Brasil, en el estado de Roraima, donde se ha producido una afluencia significativa de migrantes venezolanos. Mediante el concepto de “geografía de exclusión digital”, se examina cómo la falta de infraestructura comunicacional en esta región, clasificada como "desierto de noticias", afecta la integración y el ejercicio de la ciudadanía de la población migrante. La investigación destaca las barreras informacionales, la propagación de desinformación y la precariedad de conectividad que enfrenta esta población, proponiendo recomendaciones para mejorar la alfabetización mediática y digital a través de políticas públicas inclusivas y colaboraciones locales.
This study analyzes media literacy in migration contexts, focusing on information access conditions in Brazil's northern border region, in the state of Roraima, where a significant influx of Venezuelan migrants has occurred. Using the concept of "digital exclusion geography," it examines how the lack of communication infrastructure in this region, classified as a "news desert," affects the integration and exercise of citizenship among the migrant population. The research highlights informational barriers, the spread of misinformation, and the precarious connectivity faced by this population, proposing recommendations to improve media and digital literacy through inclusive public policies and local collaborations.
