This paper examines Gadamer's interpretation of Kantian notions of concepts such as culture, sensus communis, judgment, and taste, as presented by Gadamer in Truth and Method, within the context of the guiding concepts of humanism. By contrasting Gadamer's citations of Kant with a broader reading of Kant's texts, as well as Gadamer's comments on Kant, it becomes evident that, although Gadamer extensively draws on Kant and adopts his terminology, he interprets these concepts in Kant differently, even when directly referring to the philosopher. In other words, despite quoting Kant, Gadamer does not adhere to the original meanings that Kant assigned to these terms, instead attributing them with a new significance.
Este artigo examina a interpretação de Gadamer da noção kantiana dos conceitos de formação, sensus communis, juízo e gosto, conforme apresentada por Gadamer em Verdade e Método, no contexto dos Conceitos Básicos do Humanismo. Ao contrastar com uma leitura mais abrangente dos textos de Kant as citações de Kant feitas por Gadamer, bem como os comentários de Gadamer a propósito de Kant observa-se que, embora Gadamer recorra amplamente a Kant e adote sua terminologia, ele interpreta esses conceitos em Kant de forma distinta, mesmo quando se refere diretamente ao filósofo. Em outras palavras, apesar de citar Kant, Gadamer não se compromete com o significado original que Kant atribuiu a esses termos, atribuindo-lhes uma nova significação.
