La enseñanza de la Argumentación Discursiva Escrita (ADE) es importante y necesaria en la Educación Media General venezolana. Por esa razón, el objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar las competencias argumentativas de los estudiantes del Instituto Náutico “Almirante Lino de Clemente”, tras la aplicación de un Grupo de Creación (GC) enfocado en la producción de ensayos argumentativos durante el año escolar 2017-2018. La investigación fue cualitativa de campo y el método empleado, Investigación-Acción. Los sujetos participantes fueron 82. Las técnicas utilizadas, la observación participante, el análisis de contenido y el grupo focal; los instrumentos, la bitácora del investigador y las producciones textuales estudiantiles. Los resultados evidenciaron que hubo una mejora de las competencias argumentativas de los participantes al elaborar los textos tras la aplicación del GC. El autor concluye que implementar el estudio tuvo resultados positivos con los estudiantes, como la incorporación de la tesis en los ensayos estudiantiles y podría aplicarse en otros niveles educativos con una finalidad similar.
The teaching of Written Discursive Argumentation (WDA) is important in Venezuelan General Secondary Education. For this reason, the objective of this work was to evaluate the argumentative competencies of the students of the “Almirante Lino de Clemente” Nautical Institute, after the application of a Creation Group (CG) focused on the production of argumentative essays during the 2017-2018 school year. The research was qualitative field research and the method used was Action Research. The participating subjects were 82. The techniques used, participant observation, content analysis and the focus group; the instruments, the researcher's log and the student textual productions. The results obtained showed that there was an improvement in the argumentative skills of the participants when preparing the texts after the application of the CG. The author concludes that implementing the study had positive results with the participants and could be applied at other educational levels with a similar purpose.
