El Encuentro Internacional de Bibliotecas se ha celebrado en la Escuela Industrial de la Diputación de Barcelona del 6 al 9 de octubre de 2024, gracias a la organización de siete secciones de la IFLA y entidades públicas y asociativas del Estado español. El evento ha supuesto la participación de 434 asistentes de 46 países. Los principales temas abordados han sido la bibliotecas públicas y democracia, censura en las colecciones patrimoniales, estrategias de lectura, escritura y expresión oral, planificación urbana y sostenibilidad y acción climática. También se han entregado los premios a la Mejor Biblioteca Pública del Mundo y Mejor Biblioteca y Proyecto Verde. Además de ponencias, mesas de debate y talleres se han podido realizar visitas a bibliotecas significativas de Barcelona y Gerona.
Por otra parte, el Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña ha sido la sede de la 10ª Conferencia Internacional de Bibliotecas de Arte del 3 al 5 de octubre del presente año, organizada por el Art Discovery Group Catalogue. La conferencia ha reunido a 130 participantes de 22 países y ha abordado temas como el impacto de la inteligencia artificial en las bibliotecas de arte, el acceso web a archivos y bibliotecas de instituciones culturales y su aplicación en proyectos de patrimonio cultural. La transformación digital y la preservación de contenidos digitales suponen un desafío para las bibliotecas especializadas en patrimonio artístico, que deben adaptarse a nuevas tecnologías e implementar herramientas de inteligencia artificial para mejorar el acceso y la organización de sus colecciones
The International Library Conference was held at the Industrial School in the Barcelona Provincial Council from October 6th to 9th, 2024, thanks to the organization of seven sections of IFLA and public and associative entities of Spain. The event involved the participation of 434 attendees from 46 countries. The main topics addressed were public libraries and democracy, censorship in heritage collections, reading, writing and oral expression strategies, urban planning and sustainability and climate action. Awards were also given for Best Public Library in the World and Best Green Library. In addition to presentations, roundtable discussions and workshops, visits were made to important libraries in Barcelona and Girona.
On the other hand, the National Art Museum of Catalonia hosted the 10º International Art Libraries Conference from the 3rd to the 5th October this year, organized by the Art Discovery Group Catalogue. The conference brought together 130 participants from 22 countries and addressed topics such as the impact of Artificial Intelligence on art libraries, web access to archives and libraries of cultural institutions and their application in cultural heritage projects. Digital transformation and the preservation of digital content pose a challenge for libraries specialising in artistic heritage, which must adapt to new technologies and implement Artificial Intelligence tools to improve access to, and organization of, their collections.
