En el presente trabajo se analiza las modificaciones producidas por el Real Decreto-Ley 2/2024, de 21 de mayo, en el nivel asistencial de la protección por desempleo con el objeto de simplificar y mejorar su gestión, llegándose a la conclusión de que, si la simplificación suponía reducir el número de tipos de subsidios, lo cierto es que no ha habido mucho acierto en la nueva regulación. En cambio, sí se han producido algunas mejoras interesantes, tanto en el contenido de los derechos como en la gestión de las prestaciones. Nos centramos en el análisis de los subsidios «comunes» del artículo 274 de la Ley general de la Seguridad Social.
This paper analyses the modifications produced by Royal Decree-Law 2/2024, of 21 May, in the welfare level of unemployment protection with the aim of simplifying and improving its management. The conclusion reached is that, if simplification meant reducing the number of types of benefits, the new regulation has not been very successful. On the other hand, there have been some interesting improvements both in the content of rights and in the management of benefits. We focus on the analysis of the "common" allowances of Article 274 of the General Social Security Law.
