Nado en 1865 coma edificio de vivendas e adaptado a hospedaxe en 1879, o Continental de Vigo foi o primeiro establecemento de Galicia con distinción de hotel. A través da súa figura pódese tratar a evolución da cidade entre os séculos XIX e XX en diferentes materias, centrándose este artigo na parte social.
Born in 1865 as an residential building and adapted as an hotel in 1879, the Continental of Vigo was the first establishment of Galicia with the distinction of being an hotel. Through its figure it’s possible to address the city’s evolution between 19th and 20th centuries in different subjects, focusing this article on the social aspect.
