Este artículo dibuja cómo el pensamiento latinoamericano ha penetrado en las instituciones internacionales estudiando sus motivos y objetivos, así como sus consecuencias desde el período poscolonial hasta la actualidad. El principal objetivo del artículo es conocer si esa influencia está determinada por un deseocomún de los estados latinoamericanos de emanciparse de la directriz impuesta por la civilización occidental o de integrarse a ella en clave de igualdad. Este objetivo se fundamenta en el supuesto de que para alcanzar la emancipación sería necesario actuar bajo una concepción de presente y futuro en común sostenida en la identidad latinoamericana.
Para alcanzar el objetivo del artículo se consideran los estudios de los más reputados internacionalistas latinoamericanos en dos períodos diferentes, así como el influjo de los diplomáticos latinoamericanos en los procesos de negociación internacionales. Primero, en el período inmediatamente posterior a las independencias latinoamericanas y, segundo, en el surgimiento del derecho internacional moderno después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Analizando estas épocas a través de sus juristas internacionales más importantes y los representantes diplomáticos latinoamericanos en la construcción institucional internacional se conocerán cuáles son las diversas opiniones y motivaciones de los autores, la importancia de la identidad latinoamericana y sus resultados desde un punto de vista regional.
This article outlines how Latin American thought has penetrated international institutions, studying their motives and objectives, as well as their consequences from the postcolonial period to the present. The main objective of the article is to know if this influence is determined by a common desire of Latin American states to emancipate themselves from the directive imposed by Western civilisation or to integrate into it in a key of equality. This objective assumes that to achieve emancipation, it would be necessary to act under acommon conception of present and future sustained by Latin American identity.To achieve the objective of the article, the studies of the most renowned Latin American internationalists in two different periods are considered, as well as the influence of Latin American diplomats in international negotiation processes. First, in the period immediately following the Latin American independence and, second, in the emergence of modern international law after the Second World War. Analyzing these times through their most important international jurists and Latin American diplomatic representatives ininternational institutional construction, we will know what the diverse opinions and motivations of the authors are, the importance of Latin American identity and its results from a regional point of view.
