Estimación del crecimiento de denuncias de delitos sexuales contra niños, niñas y adolescentes:: Desarrollo de un modelo predictivo

    En Chile, las denuncias por delitos sexuales contra niños, niñas y adolescentes han aumentado sostenidamente en los últimos años, alcanzando los 40.000 casos en 2022. Con el objetivo de identificar si esta tendencia puede mantenerse en los próximos años, la investigación desarrolla un modelo predictivo para estimar el ingreso de estas denuncias, utilizando el análisis de series temporales. Según este modelo, se estima que para 2030 podría haber 85.000 denuncias de este tipo. De igual modo, se identificó que en los últimos años el aumento de denuncias se ha visto influenciado por la puesta en marcha de políticas públicas afines y la cobertura mediática de hechos criminales de índole sexual. Por su parte se constata un mayor efecto del inicio y cierre del año escolar en la oscilación de denuncias. Los resultados de la presente investigación son un insumo para que instituciones públicas del ámbito criminal puedan planificar e implementar las medidas necesarias para garantizar el acceso a la justicia a estas víctimas. También, se advierte la creciente importancia que tienen los establecimientos educativos para denunciar este tipo de agresiones y la relevancia de que otras organizaciones puedan cumplir este rol especialmente durante las vacaciones escolares.

    In Chile, reports of sexual crimes against children and adolescents have steadily increased in recent years, reaching 40,000 cases in 2022. To determine whether this trend will continue in the coming years, the research is developing a predictive model to estimate the number of these complaints, using time series analysis. According to this model, it is estimated that by 2030 there could be 85,000 such complaints. Similarly, it was identified that in recent years, the increase in reporting has been influenced by the implementation of related public policies and media coverage of criminal sexual offenses. The beginning and end of the school year have also had an increasing effect on the fluctuation in reporting. The results of this research provide input for public institutions in the criminal justice field to plan and implement the necessary measures to guarantee access to justice for these victims. It also highlights the growing importance of educational establishments in reporting this type of aggression and the relevance of other organizations being able to fulfill this role, especially during school holidays.
