The paper analyzes the new Ilo Recommendation n. 204 concerning the transition from the informal to the formal economy, adopted by the International Labour Conference at its 104th session in Geneva, on 12 June 2015. The aim of this Recommendation is to facilitate the transition of workers and economic units from the informal to the formal economy, to promote the creation of enterprises and decent jobs in the formal economy, and to prevent the informalization of formal jobs, offering a guidance to member States on how to facilitate transition from informality to the formal economy.
