The importance of ensuring a healthy communicative environment, with diversity of opinions and monitoringof transmitted information, is highlighted as an essential element for the proper functioning of a democratic society. Raising awareness of the risks and challenges of digital communication, together with the promotion of ethical and responsible journalistic practices, are key aspects of preserving the integrity of the political process and public debate. Furthermore, it takes a critical approach to the conception of freedom and truth, relating these concepts to democracy, language, and politics. From Hobbes' reflections to contemporary considerations about the relativity of truth, the text highlights important questions about ethics, power, and responsibility of political agents in communication. In which the idea of freedom of expression is problematized with the understanding of freedom as the absence of opposition and the manipulation of language and ideas throughout history. The discussion on the relationship between power, law, and democracy is also addressed, showing how these concepts are interconnected and how relative truth and the plurality of truths influence the functioning of democratic regimes. Aiming to bring to the current context, where the dissemination of fake news and the manipulation of information are significant challenges, the discussion about truth, freedom of expression, and responsibility in communication gains even more relevance. Promoting a culture of transparency, honesty, and ethics in political communication is fundamental to strengthening democratic principles and ensuring citizens' trust in the political system. Finally, he shared fundamental questions about the role of public agents, political candidates, and the media in the electoral and democratic context. O artigo aborda detalhes sobre a evolução da linguagem em contexto histórico em contexto com os desafios atuais apresentados pela disseminação de notícias falsas na era digital. Observa-se como a comunicação desempenhou um papel fundamental na evolução da sociedade humana, permitindo a transmissão de ideias, a organização social e o desenvolvimento de tecnologias que revolucionaram a forma como nos comunicamos.
