En el contexto del sistema escolar chileno, se observa una coexistencia de diversas identidades y expresiones culturales. Sin embargo, esta diversidad no siempre se ve reflejada en un reconocimiento y valoración positiva de la Otredad. Ante esta problemática nos enfocamos en observar críticamente el tratamiento que el texto de estudio de la asignatura de Lenguaje y Comunicación correspondiente a 6° año básico hace de las identidades del pueblo mapuche. A partir de la revisión de índice, contenidos, imágenes y bibliografía sugerida en lecturas del texto de estudio, este da a conocer los enfoques predominantes en la representación del pueblo en los materiales, imágenes, textos y actividades propuestas en el texto y las narrativas que contribuyen a la configuración de la identidad del pueblo. Se concluye, principalmente, que la identidad mapuche es presentada como folklorizada, desde autores sin pertinencia cultural reduciendo y minimizando las expresiones lingüísticas y culturales de los primeros.
In the context of the Chilean school system, a coexistence of diverse identities and cultural expressions is observed. However, this diversity is not always reflected in a positive recognition and appreciation of Otherness. Faced with this problem, we focus on critically observing the treatment that the study text of the Language and Communication subject corresponding to the 6th year of basic education makes of the identities of the Mapuche people. Based on the review of the index, contents, images and bibliography suggested in readings of the study text, this reveals the predominant approaches in the representation of the town in the materials, images, texts and activities proposed in the text and the narratives that They contribute to the configuration of the town’s identity. It is mainly concluded that the Mapuche identity is presented as folklorized, by authors without cultural relevance reducing and minimizing the linguistic and cultural expressions of the former.
