El trabajo examina el papel de la Corte Suprema de Justicia de Paraguay con relación a los derechos de las mujeres en el marco de la perspectiva de género. Tomando como base 938 sentencias, se analizaron en profundidad 40 sentencias de las Salas Constitucional y Penal entre 2000 al 2020. Los datos revelan que el 75% de los casos fueron resueltos con perspectiva de género. En los casos en donde el Estado fue parte, la Corte ha resuelto a favor de los derechos de las mujeres, mostrando una evolución en cuanto a la protección efectiva de sus derechos.
This article examines the role of the Supreme Court of Justice of Paraguay regar ding women’s rights within the framework of the gender perspective. It conducts a detailed analysis of 40 judgments from the Constitutional and Penal Chambers between 2000 and 2020, drawn from a pool of 938 sentences. The findings indicate that 75% of the cases were decided with a gender perspective. Notably, in cases involving the State as a party, the Court consistently ruled in favor of women’s rights, signifying an evolving commitment to effective protection of their rights.
