A partir de la provocación de Carlos Walter Porto-Gonçalves de pensar las geobiografías, en este escrito buscamos plasmar algunas de las lecciones fundamentales aprendidas con dicho maestro y amigo. Estos aprendizajes nos resuenan desde los diferentes territorios que nos constituyen. Dichas lecciones tienen que ver con: 1) ser colectivo desde la academia, pero más allá de ésta y, 2) que quiénes sentimos la pasión por la Tierra necesitamos entenderla en su dimensión material/biofísica, en su dinámica socio-metabólica. Como el legado del caminar de Carlos Walter por el continente no es estático sino movimiento, finalizamos planteando algunas preguntas contemporáneas que nos exigen ir más allá de las reflexiones y sentires que Carlos Walter nos compartió.
Starting from Carlos Walter Porto-Gonçalves' provocation to think about "geobiographies", this article seeks to capture some of the fundamental lessons learned with said master and friend. These learnings resonate with us from the different territories that constitute us. These lessons have to do with: 1) being collective from the academy, but beyond it and, 2) those who feel the passion for the Earth need to understand it in its material/biophysical dimension, in its socio-metabolic dynamics. The legacy of Carlos Walter's journey through the continent is not static. Still, movement, we conclude by raising some contemporary questions that require us to go beyond the reflections and feelings that Carlos Walter shared with us.
