Esta investigación enfrenta el reto de reconectar a los jóvenes de Latacunga con la festividad tradicional de la Mama Negra, mediante una propuesta artística utilizando la técnica del video mapping, resaltando elementos distintivos de la indumentaria del Ángel de la Estrella. Se empleó un enfoque cualitativo que incluye técnicas de campo y análisis morfológico de elementos culturales que profundizan su legado cultural, promoviendo así la preservación de este patrimonio. Cómo resultado se logra diseñar una obra digital que revela cómo la fusión de arte y tecnología pueden crear el interés en esta celebración, narrando su historia y cultura, que motiva a la juventud a valorar y conservar sus tradiciones.
This research tackles the challenge of reconnecting the youth of Latacunga with the traditional Mama Negra festival, using an artistic proposal that utilizes video mapping technology to highlight distinctive elements of the Angel of the Star’s attire. A qualitative approach was used, including field techniques and morphological analysis of cultural elements that deepen their cultural legacy, thereby promoting the preservation of this heritage. As a result, a digital artwork was designed that demonstrates how the fusion of art and technology can generate interest in this celebration, narrating its history and culture, and motivating the youth to value and preserve their traditions.
