Despite the multiplication of social assistance programmes and the improvement of the access to basic services (electricity, water, housing, health) since the end of the apartheid, the deterioration in the quality of these services and the decay of public infraestructures, added to the astronomical unemployment rates and a structurally unequal distribution of landowning, have provoked a growing disillusion regarding the capacity of the ANC, which has ruled alone for thirty years, to develop the long-awaited transformation of the country and stop the growing inequalities.
Malgré la multiplication des aides sociales et l’amélioration de l’accès aux services de base (électricité, eau, éducation, logement, santé) depuis la fin de l’apartheid, la détérioration marquée de la qualité de ces services et la déliquescence des infrastructures publiques, qui s’ajoutent à des taux de chômage stratosphériques et à une répartition foncière structurellement inégalitaire, nourrissent une désillusion grandissante quant à la capacité de l’ANC, seul au pouvoir trente ans durant, de donner corps à la transformation tant espérée et de mettre fin au creusement des inégalités.
