La administración y gestión del conocimiento, se consolida como un activo de valor y un sistema de medición para las mismas. Entender cómo se gestiona el conocimiento en este tipo de instituciones cobra sentido en términos sustantivos de docencia, investigación y extensión universitaria. Este artículo tiene como objetivo realizar una revisión sistemática sobre los modelos de gestión de conocimiento empleados en las Instituciones de Educación Superior, para saber cuáles son los principales modelos de gestión de conocimiento empleados e indaga si alguno de ellos contempla la habilidad, actitud o personalidad de sus empleados dentro de su estructura. Como resultado se encuentra que son más las universidades que se preocupan por la estructura del conocimiento en sus organizaciones y que se empeñan en sistematizar los procesos, especialmente las instituciones latinoamericanas, que buscan aumentar sus índices de calidad en relación con las universidades europeas.
The administration and management of knowledge is consolidated as an asset and a measurement system for them. Understanding how knowledge is managed in this type of institution makes sense in substantive terms of teaching, research and university extension. The objective of this article is to carry out a systematic review of the knowledge management models used in Higher Education Institutions, to know which the main knowledge management models are used and to investigate if any of them contemplates the ability, attitude or personality of its employees within its structure. As a result, it is found that there are more universities that are concerned about the structure of knowledge in their organizations and that are committed to systematizing processes, especially Latin American institutions, which seek to increase their quality indices in relation to European universities.
