Vivimos en una sociedad que muestra un gran desapego hacia el Derecho. Los ciudadanos no confían ni en sus legisladores, ni en sus jueces, ni en sus gobernantes. Se sienten engañados. Esta situación, nefasta de por sí, produce efectos que atentan gravemente contra la democracia y el Estado de Derecho. Urge cambiar esa dinámica, y es necesario hacerlo pronto, pues de otro modo, la convivencia se degradará hasta tal punto que será difícil, sino imposible, asegurar una coexistencia en paz y justicia, y, por lo mismo, se verá comprometido el derecho de los ciudadanos a vivir en democracia.
We live in a society that shows a great lack of commitment from the Law. Citizens do not trust their legislators, their judges, or their rulers. They feel cheated. This situation, disastrous in itself, produces effects that seriously threaten against democracy and the rule of law. It is urgent to change that dynamic, and it is necessary do it soon, otherwise, coexistence will degrade to such a point that it will be difficult, if not impossible, to ensure coexistence in peace and justice, and, therefore, it will be seen compromised the right of citizens to live in democracy.
