Se estudia el capital humano y el Design Thinking como factores claves en la reinvención de la biblioteca pública en el Perú durante el periodo de pandemia. En cuanto a la metodología, representa una investigación con enfoque cualitativo, con diseño y tipo descriptivo y exploratorio. Se entrevistó a cinco responsables de bibliotecas públicas, con su consentimiento informado, principalmente de aquellas relativas con la innovación bibliotecaria que han obtenido el reconocimiento «Jorge Basadre Grohmann». Entre los principales resultados, se observó la iniciativa y el compromiso social del personal bibliotecario con su comunidad y el uso de referentes culturales para innovar. Empíricamente se aplicó la metodología en los casos que obtuvieron el reconocimiento, sin embargo, se detectó la ausencia de la elaboración de prototipos. Se concluyó que el Design Thinking constituye un método recomendado cuando se necesita innovar en bibliotecas con recursos limitados.
This research studies human capital and Design Thinking as key factors in the reinvention of the public library in Peru during the pandemic period. Methodologically, it is a research with a qualitative approach, with a descriptive and exploratory design and type. Five chief of public libraries were interviewed, with their informed consent, mainly those leaders in library innovation that have obtained the «Jorge Basadre Grohmann» recognition. Among the main results, the initiative and social commitment of the library staff with their community and the use of cultural references to innovate were observed. Empirically, the methodology was applied in the cases that obtained recognition, however, the absence of prototyping was detected. It was concluded that Design Thinking is a recommended method when it is necessary to innovate in libraries with limited resources.
