El presente artículo tiene como objetivo primordial analizar las propiedades métricas de un instrumento para evaluar la competencia informacional autopercibida (CIA) por estudiantes universitarios y, adicionalmente, persigue exponer la relación de las variables latentes que integran la CIA a partir de un modelo de ecuaciones estructurales (SEM). La investigación se abordó desde una metodología de corte cuantitativo de diseño instrumental. La muestra total fue de 2 189 estudiantes universitarios de centros públicos y privados en el estado de Sonora, México. Los principales resultados del estudio indican que se cuenta con un instrumento pertinente y consistente. Las diversas pruebas y análisis estadísticos permitieron identificar y evaluar la idoneidad de las variables latentes y observadas que conforman el modelo propuesto.
The objective of this article is to examine the metric properties of an instrument to evaluate self-perceived informational competence (CIA) by university students and, additionally, it seeks to expose the relationship of the latent variables that integrate the CIA from a model of structural equations (SEM). The research was approached from a quantitative methodology of instrumental design cut. The total sample was 2,189 university students from public and private centers in the state of Sonora, Mexico. The main results of the study indicate that there is a pertinent and consistent instrument. The various statistical tests and analyzes made it possible to identify and evaluate the suitability of the latent and observed variables that make up the proposed model.
