Ante la internacionalización de las crisis de los Estados, las ciencias sociales han ido manejando y afianzando varios conceptos analíticos. En el de «Estado fallido» se fundamentaron no pocas interpretaciones relativas a varios fracasos institucionales y políticos que no pasaron desapercibidos en el escenario internacional. Desde hace varios años, el concepto se le está aplicando al caso de Venezuela, resaltando asimismo una crisis de confianza a nivel internacional y un riesgo solapado para los equilibrios regionales, junto al derrumbe institucional del país en un contexto de crisis económica, política y social e incluso de catástrofe humanitaria y migratoria. Este estudio intenta profundizar e historizar las características del Estado fallido en un contexto continental y la manera cómo el concepto se presta a la interpretación del caso venezolano en un maltrecho tiempo presente, entre represión, desprecio de los derechos humanos y crimen organizado. Faced with the internationalization of State crises, the social sciences have been managing and strengthening several analytical concepts. Many interpretations were based on the "failed state" regarding various institutional and political failures that did not go unnoticed on the international stage. For several years now, the concept has been applied to the case of Venezuela, also highlighting a crisis of confidence at the international level and an overlapping risk for regional balances, along with the country's institutional collapse in a context of economic, political and social crisis. and even a humanitarian and migratory catastrophe. This study attempts to deepen and historicize the characteristics of the failed State in a continental context and the way in which the concept lends itself to the interpretation of the Venezuelan case in a battered present time, between repression, contempt for human rights and organized crime.
