La familia venezolana desde la perspectiva de la mujer sola jefe de hogar

    Desde la óptica de la mujer sola, jefe de hogar, se presenta un análisis de la estructura de estos grupos familiares y de la estructuración de los significados relacionados con su realidad social. Para ello, se parte de presentar una breve revisión teórica acerca de la problemática de la familia popular venezolana, destacándose como rasgo definitorio el rol fundamental que juega la madre y la parentela materna al interior del grupo familiar. Por último, se señala cómo la mujer construye una imagen de sí misma que esta asociada a tres roles fundamentales: mujer-madre, mujer-familia y mujer-pareja.

    From the perspective of the single woman, head of the household, an analysis of the structure of these family groups and the structuring of the meanings related to their social reality is presented. To do this, we start by presenting a brief theoretical review about the problems of the Venezuelan popular family, highlighting as a defining feature the fundamental role played by the mother and the maternal relatives within the family group. Finally, it is pointed out how women construct an image of themselves that is associated with three fundamental roles: woman-mother, woman-family and woman-partner.
