El ejercicio material de la libertad económica es un tema de profundas discusiones entre diversas acepciones políticas, unas que van desde el derecho natural del individuo a hacerlo siempre, en todo lugar y sin limitación alguna y otras que extraen tal posibilidad del individuo y lo reservan a la sociedad en su conjunto. La Constitución venezolana de 1999 consagra la visión del derecho individual a la libertad económica con limitaciones regladas en función de su impacto social, tomando los conceptos fundamentales del estado social de derecho. Este trabajo hace una aproximación al concepto de “libertad económica”, a su valía como derecho fundamental y como eje de la constitución económica, la dimensión de sus limitaciones, su relación con otros derechos a la hora de su ponderación y su práctica real en Venezuela.
The material exercise of economic freedom is a matter of deep political discussions between various meanings, ranging from a natural right of the individual to always do, everywhere without any limitations and other such possibility that extract the individual and reserved for society as a whole. Venezuela's 1999 constitution enshrines the vision of individual economic freedom with limitations regulated based on their social impact, taking the fundamental concepts of the social rule of law. This paper makes an approach to the concept of "economic freedom", his worth as a fundamental right and an axis of the economic constitution, the dimension of its limitations, its relation to other rights when their weight and their actual practice in Venezuela.
