Resumen de El patrimonio cultural en México y sus identidades en la mirada del Estado nación y su ruptura

  El surgimiento de México como Estado nación se produjo, como en otras regiones europeas y de Latinoamérica, a costa de su diversidad cultural y geográfica. La formulación de una historia nacional aparejada al proyecto del Estado nación se extendió en un proceso de más de 200 años, en que se entendió que la cultura y el patrimonio eran un todo homogéneo y monolítico. En este artículo se hace un recorrido de ese proceso, desde su tiempo inaugural hasta su consolidación en el periodo posrevolucionario, para luego identificar la crisis que se suscitó a partir de finales del siglo XX en que entró en escena un panorama multicultural y se fracturó el status quo del Estado nación y la unidad cultural. Como respuesta a esto, la aparición de los contramonumentos como elementos de rememoración se da en el contexto del reconocimiento de la alteridad y multiplicidad de identidades. La reflexión y cuestionamiento a los procesos de valoración y selección del patrimonio se hace presente ante su desvinculación con la sociedad actual.

  Mexico's emergence as a nation-state occurred, as in other European and Latin American regions, at the expense of its cultural and geographic diversity. The construction of a national history coupled with the nation-state project, that lasted over a process of almost 200 years. In this process, culture and heritage were assumed as a homogeneous and monolithic whole. In this article we have reviewed this process, from its first moment until its consolidation in the post-revolutionary period. Then, we identified the crisis that emerged in the end of the 20th century, when the status quo of the nation state was broken by the entry of other identities that confronted the national identity. As a result, the appearance of counter-monuments as elements of remembrance occur in the context of the recognition of otherness and multiplicity of identities. Debate and questioning the values and selection of the cultural heritage in present as its moves away from current society.
