Los Pueblos Indígenas protagonizan una lucha por la reivindicación de sus derechos sociales y políticos en Méxicodesde hace tres décadas. Dando por resultado la reforma constitucional del artículo 2en 2001, el cual se dedica exclusivamente a la protección de los derechos de estos pueblos. Asimismo, el tema de la identidad es una temática que se toca en esta fuente del derechocomo un elemento indispensable para reconocer al sujeto.En resumen, el presente artículo ofrece una visión amplia acerca del significado de este concepto, la identidad, a la luz del derecho constitucional nacional y el derecho internacional.
Indigenous people have been leading a fight for the recognition of their political and social rights in Mexico for the past three decades. Giving as a result of this fight, the constitutional amendment of the article 2 in 2001, which is exclusivelydedicated to the protection of these communities. Also, the identity subject is a topic related to the source of law as an essential element to recognize the subject of law. In essence, the here mentioned article provides a wide perspective about the meaning of this concept, the identity, in light of the national constitutional law and international law.
