Es necesario recuperar la narrativa del escritor giennense Antonio Martínez Menchén y en este trabajo Morales Lomas, que dedicó un ensayo a toda su obra completa, recupera las ideas esenciales centradas en la memoria histórica y el compromiso del escritor con la palabra y la vida, al mismo tiempo que estudia una de sus últimas obras, Patria, justicia y pan, que refleja especialmente este compromiso. Pero también advierte de su gran labor como adelantado a los grandes cambios que hubo en la narrativa española en los años 60 y a la injusticia de su olvido, por razones diversas que son analizadas.
It is necessary to recover the narrative of the Giennense writer Antonio Martinez Menchen and in this work Morales Lomas, who dedicated an essay to his complete work, recovers the essential ideas centred on historical memory and the writer’s commitment to word and life. At the same time, he studies one of his last works, Homeland, justice and peace, which especially reflects this commitment. But he also warns of his great work as an anticipator of the great changes that took place in the Spanish narrative in the 1960s and the injustice of forgetting him, for various reasons that are analysed.
