La presente entrega es la sexta de las relativas a la reducción de la planta municipal en España. Se recoge aquí la correspondiente a Cataluña, Comunidad Valenciana e Islas Baleares, donde no hubo prácticamente modificaciones en la planta municipal en las últimas décadas pero sí intentos de resolver sus disfuncionalidades sin alterarla: división comarcal en Cataluña con capacidad de gestión y consejos políticos y comarcalización aunque meramente operativa en la Comunidad Valenciana, mientras que en Baleares la gestión supramunicipal se aborda en Mallorca por medio de mancomunidades de municipios de configuración variable, contando las demás islas con los consejos insulares como instancias intermedias entre la comunidad autónoma y los municipios.
This installment is the sixth of those related to the reduction of the municipal plant in Spain. The one corresponding to Catalonia, the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands is included here, where there have been practically no modifications in the municipal plant in recent decades but there have been attempts to resolve its dysfunctions without altering it: regional division in Catalonia with management capacity and political councils and regionalization although merely operational in the Valencian Community, while in the Balearic Islands supramunicipal management is addressed in Mallorca through associations of municipalities. Municipalities of variable configuration, with the other islands having the island councils as intermediate instances between the Autonomous Community and the municipalities.
