Venezuela
The Resolution dated October 15, 2021, issued by the Human Rights Committee, declared that Venezuela violated several human rights of Professor Allan R. Brewer-Carías recognized in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Those violations were based on the political persecution against Professor Brewer-Carías implemented by the Venezuelan authoritarian regime. Consequently, the Resolution is evidence of the lack of an independent and autonomous judiciary in Venezuela. Indeed, Venezuela is an example of judicial authoritarianism because the judicial system is used as a repression tool.
