En primer lugar, la presente contribución busca hacer una revisión de lo que han sido los muros a lo largo de la historia, muros que han buscado frenar los flujos migratorios, las invasiones u otros fenómenos por lo que los seres humanos siempre han querido moverse de un lugar a otro, en busca de riqueza, de adquirir territorios, buscar seguridad, estabilidad entre otros factores. Estas barreras pueden tener diferentes representaciones, pero siempre han buscado frenar el ingreso de extranjeros a un territorio. Posteriormente, el lector encontrará diferentes conceptos y tipos de migración que se explican siguiendo las definiciones dadas por la Organización Internacional para las Migraciones, estableciendo y precisando los diferentes conceptos que, en ocasiones, son usados de forma poco clara o confusa. Finalmente, a modo de conclusión, se hace un breve análisis de las dificultades a las que nos vemos abocados al fijar las diferentes políticas públicas relativas a la migración frente a las. Necesidades que han ido surgiendo como consecuencia de las penurias y dificultades que tienen los individuos ligados a los diferentes factores que generan los movimientos de personas bajo las diferentes coyunturas que se viven a nivel regional o local y inciden a nivel mundial.
This contribution begins with a review of the walls that have been erected throughout history in an effort to restrict the migratory flows, invasions or other kinds of movements of people who have historically sought riches, the acquisition of lands, or security and stability among other things. These barriers have presented themselves in different ways but with the same objective of seeking to restrict the entry of foreigners into a territory. Next, the reader will find different concepts and types of migration, which are explained according to the definitions provided by the International Organization for Migration which establishes and specifies different concepts that are, occasionally, applied in an unclear or confusing way. Finally, by way of conclusion, a brief analysis is presented as to the challenges with which we are faced when setting diverse public policies in relation to migration while faced with the needs which have emerged resulting from the hardships and difficulties experienced by such individuals. These challenges arise because they are linked to the different factors which have generated the movement of people under the different circumstances that they experience at regional or local levels, but which have a worldwide effect.
